A 2014 Capital One Academic All-District selecion, Michael Timm holds an impressive 3.85 GPA. Also a two-time Academic All-Horizon League selection and frequent Dean’s List honoree, Timm is working toward a career in portfolio management and investment analysis. He is currently involved in managing the Wright State Endowment Fund and Finance Department Fund.

Character

A student-athlete of high character, Timm enjoys giving back to the community and serving others, which is evidenced by his commitment to excellence in the classroom, on the field and in community service. As a committed leader, Timm serves as an officer in the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee, he has helped organize charity events for Blue Star Mothers and Toys for Tots. Timm also helped SAAC organize an effort that encouraged student-athletes at Wright State to send letters to troops overseas as a way of encouraging and thanking them for their service.

Community

In his time at Wright State, Timm has participated in numerous community service projects. Along with his work through the SAAC, he has helped with efforts for the Dayton Food Bank (packing bags of foods for kids in Dayton schools), Habitat for Humanity and the Vs. Cancer Foundation. He also helps with the practices of a youth softball team.

Competition

In 2014, Timm was an All-Mideast selection, the team MVP, and an All-Horizon League First Team selection. He played in 56 games with 55 starts, mostly at second base, and led the team with 69 hits, 41 runs and 38 RBI. He hit .322 with a slugging percentage of .467, recording 16 multi-hit games with two four-hit games. He went on a 17-game hitting streak in late April/early May and recorded 155 assists and 120 putouts.

As a sophomore in 2013, Timm played in 53 games while starting 52 at third and at first. He led the team with 33 RBI and hit .242 with 50 hits, 26 runs in a team-high 207 at bats. He was the Horizon League Player of the Week for May 5 and had 11 multi-hit games.

In his first year, 2012, he was selected to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team and played in 42 games with 33 starts, mostly at third. He had four RBI at Butler (3/24), a nine-game hitting streak late in the season, three hits twice, two triples and seven doubles.
