Classroom

Roelfsema carries a 3.85 GPA as a psychology major. In addition to her tremendous performances on the pitch, she has excelled in the classroom.

In 2020-21, Roelfsema was named a first team United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, a member of the C-USA All-Academic second team, and a C-USA Academic Medalist. She is also a member of the Rice President’s Honor Roll.

Character

Roelfsema is a model student-athlete, always showing what it means to lead by example. Helping the Owls reach the 2020-21 NCAA Sweet 16, she elected to return for a fifth year in hopes of competing for a National Championship.

Community

Roelfsema has helped lead the Owls in the team’s social justice pursuits. She advocates for both racial equality and LGBTQ+ inclusion.

While at Rice, she has also helped spur involvement with TeamIMPACT.

In addition to those initiatives, Roelfsema has volunteered at the Houston Food Bank, where she helped serve food.

Competition

En route to leading Rice to the 2020-21 NCAA Sweet 16, Roelfsema was named an All-American by the United Soccer Coaches, College Soccer News, and TopDrawerSoccer. Selected as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, she also earned C-USA Defender of the Year, C-USA first team, and United Soccer coaches All-South Region first team status.

Heading into 2021, Roelfsema was named a College Soccer News preseason first team All-American and a member of TopDrawerSoccer’s third team preseason Best XI. In addition to those accolades, she has been named the C-USA preseason Defender of the Year and a member of the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
