Character

Sodders is a leader through example. Last spring he injured his knee and worked tirelessly to return to competitive status. When he returned to the line up, Mike continued to lead the WAC with his performance at the plate. His teammates rallied around him as he provided an unshakable confidence in the team's ability to win and his own ability to help get the team to the top.

Community

Sodders has volunteered time with several baseball camps and youth camps.

Competition

Sodders was named to three preseason All-American Teams in 2010. He led the team with a .422 batting average in 2009 and was the first New Mexico State player to earn multiple all-American honors in a season. He was just the 23rd New Mexico State player to ever hit over .400. Had 69 RBI, 19 doubles, 13 home runs in 2009. Sodders was part of a team that broke the school record for home runs in a season, hits in a season, extra base hits in a season, RBI in a season
