Electrical and Computer Engineering

Johnson graduated from Rutgers, earning his degree in electrical and computer engineering. He is currently enrolled in a two-year graduate program for engineering at UCLA.

He was a two-time Big Ten Conference All-Academic selection, three-time Big Ten All-Academic honoree, and also received 2020-21 CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition.

Johnson was an integral member of the program at Rutgers for three years. He was a member of their Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, which traveled to Puerto Rico during the summer to benefit Soles4Souls.

Johnson has already demonstrated his character while at UCLA. He is a terrific representative of both the program and university and demonstrates as such when dealing with the media.

Johnson established BLKdev, an initiative to inspire minority youths to participate in STEM.

In addition, he was featured on the Big Ten Network’s “The Journey” series, as well as the B1G Impact Roundtable, where he spoke on the role of college sports in the push toward greater equality.

Johnson has become one of UCLA’s top front-court players in his short time with the program.

In his last season with Rutgers, Johnson averaged 8.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game. He led the team in rebounding and blocks per game while ranking second in total steals.
