Classroom

Nick has been a model student-athlete as he is a two-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team selection and two-time MAAC Honor Roll recipient. He is also a Manhattan College Dean’s List honoree. He was recently nominated for Manhattan’s prestigious Gunn Medal Award, which is given to a graduating senior who has made the most significant contribution to Manhattan College during their undergraduate years.

Character

Nick is a two-time team captain who has led the Manhattan baseball team to back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships. He has great integrity and desire to achieve the highest success in the classroom and on the playing field. Nick was a member of the Manhattan College Student Athlete Advisory Committee where he directed and organized many student-athlete initiatives for the institution.

Community

Nick has given back to the community on numerous occasions during his career at Manhattan. He volunteers time on a weekly basis to work with special needs kids at a local community center (Kings Bridge), helping students with homework and other activities. Nick has also directed the clean up and preparing of three public baseball fields at Van Cortlandt Park for the use of local little leagues and community teams. Nick has also organized community efforts with his teammates supporting organizations such as Wounded Warriors Program, American Red Cross, and a Toys for Tots initiative with a local elementary school. Over the summer while playing baseball with the West Hampton Aviator summer ball team, he maintained the field for a local high school team, as well as helped run and organize clinics teaching baseball to the local youth.

Competition

Nick is a two-time All Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference selection, earning First Team honors in 2012. He is 16th all-time in hits at Manhattan with 166, and he is in striking distance of being only the 13th player in program history of reaching the 200-hit plateau. He started all 59 appearances last season and was named to the MAAC All-Tournament Team after batting .476 to help lead the Jaspers to their third MAAC crown in the last seven years. Nick finished fifth in the MAAC with 66 hits and ranked fourth with 16 doubles. The Lagrangeville, N.Y. native was also fifth in the league with a .435 on-base percentage. Nick hit .314 and stole 20 bases. He has started all 163 career appearances.
