Classroom

For as great as Nomvula Kgoale has been on the pitch, she has been equally as impressive in the classroom. The South Africa native is on pace to graduate in the spring, currently holding a 3.4 cumulative grade-point average. As a sophomore, she was named a third-team Scholar All-South Region honoree and was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll. As a junior, Kgoale was selected to the C-USA All-Academic First Team, the Scholar All-South Region Second Team, and was a member of the C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Character

Kgoale is a mature individual who has experienced a lot in her young life. These life experiences have helped shape her as a person, giving her a wonderful worldview of life. She is always on hand to offer advice to the younger players on the team if and when needed, but is not overbearing with it. Kgoale has a strength of listening to others and has a warm smile that brightens up any room when she enters.

Kgoale is an outstanding soccer player who has the potential for a professional career if she so chooses. She is humble and very hard working, willing to help anyone on the team, and she always puts the team first even though she is the best player in the program. The players love her for it. She truly does give of herself for the betterment of others.

Community

Kgoale has been heavily involved in the community and assisted in charitable activities that have utilized her status as a college athlete to make an impact in worthwhile causes. She has worked several hours at the Rolling Hills Ministries Thrift Store as well as helped with the annual Bradshaw Brooks Golf Tournament. The bulk of her community service has been with animals as she has been working at the local 4Paws Animal Rescue, and she recently helped a local animal shelter in the nearby Monroe, La., community.

Competition

Kgoale transferred from Tyler Junior College in 2016 and was immediately successful. As a sophomore, she saw action in 15 matches at center back, totaling four points on two goals while being part of seven shutouts on the back line. She earned second-team All-Conference USA and second-team All-Central Region honors that season.

As a junior, Kgoale appeared in 19 matches, registering 15 points on six goals and three assists and earned first-team All-Conference USA and second-team All-South Region honors and was a member of the C-USA All-Tournament Team.
