Middle Blocker

Paige Tapp holds a 3.833 GPA and is set to graduate in Fall 2017 with a degree in marketing from the Carlson School of Management. She was named a 2015 Academic All-American (Minnesota’s first since 2003), two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District and two-time Academic All-Big Ten. Tapp completed her required study abroad experience in South Korea during the summer of 2015 and received the team’s Gold Country Award, which goes to the student-athlete with the top GPA of the competition semester (4.0).

“Paige Tapp is a very accomplished student-athlete as a two-time All-American and Academic All-American,” Head Coach Hugh McCutcheon said. “She’s a great team player and leader for us—especially at the net. Her wiliness to give to her team goes above and beyond, and she’s been an integral part of our programs development over the past four years.”

Tapp has over 16 hours of community service work through M.A.G.I.C. (Maroon and Gold Impacting the Community) and Athletes in Action Ultimate Training Camp. She also has participated in fundraising events for Unlimited Dance Marathon and has volunteered at the Gopher Athletics’ HopeDay Festival, an annual event that works in conjunction with the HopeKids organization. Tapp has volunteered at the Masonic Children’s Hospital and been involved with the Student-Athlete Advisory Council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes as a freshman.

Tapp was named to the 2015 and 2016 Preseason All-Big?Ten team and is a two-time AVCA All-American Third Team selection. She was an All-Big Ten selection as a junior and started all 35 matches as a junior, while being second on the team in blocks (150), third on team in kills (296) and third points (395.5). Tapp was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2014, and after seeing action in 21 sets as a freshman, she went on to play in 110 of 111 possible sets as a sophomore and started in all 31 matches. She averaged 1.55 blocks per set and 171 total blocks, which ranks second in school history for total blocks and blocks per set in a single season. Tapp is a two-time participant of the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team, including the World University Games.
