Penelope Hocking

Classroom

Hocking, a computer science major, is a two-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection.

She was also named to the 2019 Academic All-District Team and earned 2020 Academic All-American recognition.

Character

Hocking starter her career at USC coming off the bench. She has since moved into a starting role the last three seasons, working equally hard and effectively in each role.

Heading into this season, Hocking has taken over as a team leader with the graduation of her fellow All-American teammate last year. She battled through an early injury this year and helped lead a winning streak as soon as she returned to the lineup.

Community

Hocking has helped work youth camps with the USC soccer program.

Competition

Hocking, who has enjoyed a stellar career at USC, is on pace to become the program’s all-time leading scorer. She is a three-time All-Pac-12 and three-time All-Region honoree.

In 2020-21, Hocking was named the Pac-12 Forward of the Year, a MAC Hermann semifinalist, and a first team All-American.

In her freshman season, she was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and a Freshman All-American.
