Classroom

In the classroom, Adams has been a leader for the Longhorns as she works toward her degree in advertising and taking classes in Texas’ challenging creative sequence. A two-time Academic All-Big 12 selection and 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team. Adams is a four-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection.

Character

Adams helped Texas’ 2010 squad persevere through a season that saw the Horns lose a third of their roster to season-ending injuries. Despite the obstacles and ever-changing lineups, Adams and the Horns played their way back to the NCAA national semifinals for the third consecutive season. In 2011, she served as a key organizer in Texas’ summer workouts, helping the team maximize its offseason training.

Community

In 2010-11, Adams volunteered at Dell Children’s Hospital-Survivor Challenge. She worked at youth volleyball clinics and spent time working with UT and Me, an event that recognizes National Girls and Women in Sports Day.  In 2009-10, she helped the Youth National Volleyball Association train youth in volleyball skills necessary to advance further in their careers. She volunteered her time at National Girls and Women in Sports Day. In 2008-09, Adams worked with local fifth graders at the Austin Association for Physical Education and Recreation.

Competition

In 2010, Adams was named to the AVCA All-America First Team and Volleyball Magazine All-America First Team. She was a member of the 2010 NCAA Austin Regional All-Tournament Team and garnered AVCA All-Central Region First Team honors . She was also and All-Big 12 First Team selection and an Academic All-Big 12 Second Team pick. Adams garnered Big 12 Player of the Week honors on three occasions. At the Nike Big Four Classic and Texas Invitational she earned all-tournament team accolades. In 2010, Admas ranked No. 1 in the NCAA statistics with a .443 hitting percentage, while leading the Horns and ranking sixth in the Big 12 with 1.18 blocks per-set
