Character

Head Coach Scott Wong:
“Ahrens is an All-American volleyball player, but what impresses me the most about her is that she is an even better person. She is so selfless and is always looking at “loving on” and lifting up her friends, her teammates, and those around her.”

Community

Even with a demanding schedule as a student-athlete, Ahrens has committed herself to helping both the local and surrounding communities.

She handed out food on skid row, which contains one of the largest stable populations of homeless people in the United States. Ahrens has also worked numerous camps to promote the game of volleyball to youths while at Pepperdine, as well as coached with the Doheny Beach Volleyball Club.

Recently, Ahrens has started helping lead the spiritual life group within the Waves Leadership Council this year. She is heading into her fourth year working with the WLC as a student-leader.

Competition

Ahrens has enjoyed a successful career full of accolades. She has earned 2020 AVCA All-America honorable mention, 2020 AVA Pacific South All-Region first team, 2020 All-WCC first team, and 2019 All-WCC second team recognition. Ahrens has also been named the WCC Offensive Player of the Week six times.

Last Spring, Ahrens became the 21st Wave to hit the 1,000 career-kill mark. She is the program record holder for most aces in a season (49) and also ranks third all-time at Pepperdine in aces (130). This season alone, Ahrens ranks second nationally with 0.78 aces/set and third nationally in total aces.

In her time as a Wave, Ahrens has played in 81 matches with 96 starts. She has amassed 1,040 kills, 130 aces, and 327 digs.
