Classroom

Bouemboue received a B.S. degree in business administration in December 2008, graduating in only three and a half years, with a GPA of 3.04. He was named to the All-ACC Academic team in 2005 and 2008 and was on the ACC Academic Honor Roll three times.

Character

Bouemboue returned last season after missing all of 2007 and most of 2006 with a knee injury. He had two different surgeries on the knee before returning. Despite missing games because of injury, Bouemboue is a two-time team captain.

Community

Bouemboue has been his school’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) president for three years, the longest tenure of any student-athlete, and has also represented SAAC at the ACC get-a-way the last two years. He started the student-athlete talent show to raise money for a local children’s charity, and coordinated a concert to raise money and awareness about genocide in Darfur. He has also has taken part in the annual middle school leadership conference and has volunteered at various events at Ligon Middle School.

Competition

Bouemboue returned to action in 2008 after being limited to just eight games over the previous two seasons due to a knee injury. He was named to the 2008 All-ACC second-team and also earned ACC All-Tournament team honors for the second time in his career. He was tied for first in the ACC in goals per game (0.74) and was third in the ACC in points per game (1.68). He finished 10th in the NCAA in goals per game and 15th in the NCAA in points per game. He had four game-winning goals, starting in 18 of the Pack’s 19 games.
