Sam Cronin

Classroom

Cronin will graduate from Wake Forest in less than four years with a degree in political science. With a 3.29 GPA, Cronin was named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III Second Team in 2007. He is also a member of the 2007 ACC All-Academic Team and a three-time member of the ACC Honor Roll.

Character

Sam is respected by his teammates, fellow student-athletes, and administration. Representing his team well, he has been selected as two-time team captain. He has served on SAAC for three years and is one person that can be counted on for responsibility, dedication, and commitment.

Community

Active in numerous community service activities, Cronin has volunteered time in programs such as Eat with the Deacs, Ronald McDonald House, and Read Across America. He enjoys tutoring at local elementary schools where he feels he makes the most impact.

Competition

Cronin will become the Wake Forest all-time leader in games played and games started. He has started all 91 games he has played in his career since being a freshman.  Sam is just two games shy of becoming the Wake Forest leader all-time in games played and games started.  He was named to the 2008 Missouri Athletic Club’s Hermann Trophy Watch List and last season chalked up a number of accolades: NSCAA All-American Second Team, Soccer America First Team MVP, NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team, and All-ACC First Team.
