Slaughter is an extremely active participant in the community at South Dakota.

She spends every Monday as a peer mentor for a younger-student athlete on campus. Slaughter, along with her teammates, also volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House of Sioux Falls.

When Slaughter is back home, she also volunteers with the Kairos VB Club’s camps and clinics.

For her involvement, Slaughter was awarded a Tom Osborne Citizenship Award for completing a minimum of six service projects in a calendar year.

Competition

Slaughter is a two-time first team Summit League selection, as well as an AVCA All-Region honorable mention.

In her two full seasons at South Dakota, the Coyotes have been extremely successful. They won a Summit League regular season title, tournament title, secured an NCAA Tournament berth, and competed in the NIVC Championship. They have gone 46-10 in that span.

While Slaughter was at Nebraska, the team appeared in two national title matches, winning one.
