Caldwell was an NSCAA Academic All-America First Team honoree in 2011 and a two-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference selection in each of the past two seasons. He currently owns a 3.934 cumulative GPA as an accounting major at Akron.

Caldwell is an active contributor in the community. He has volunteered at a number of youth soccer clinics in both the Akron area and near his hometown in Braintree, Mass.
Competition
Caldwell, the 2012 Mid-American Conference Player of the Year and candidate for the Hermann Trophy, has led The University of Akron men’s soccer program, which is the consensus No. 1-ranked team in the country, to a record of 15-1-2 this fall while starting all 18 matches. As the Zips’ top point earner, the senior has recorded a career-high nine goals – including three game-winners – and six assists while leading UA to its eighth-consecutive Mid-American Conference regular-season championship this year with a perfect 7-0-0 league mark. As the squad’s attacking midfielder, Caldwell is a key component on the nation’s ninth most-prolific scoring team, which enters postseason play with 39 goals in 18 matches. Furthermore, Caldwell was a preseason All-American, according to College Soccer News (CSN) and Soccer America, and was named to the National Team of the Week by CSN on Sept. 17.
