Classroom

Christopherson has maintained a 3.1 GPA throughout his four years at Iowa State. He compiled a 3.5 GPA in the spring of 2011, helping the Cyclones achieve a team GPA of 3.05, the highest mark in school history. He was named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s honor roll in both the fall and spring of 2010-11.

Character

Christopherson was named team captain by his peers for his outstanding leadership. He has suffered much adversity with injuries in his career, but has always bounced back in a positive way. He has had two knee surgeries and one elbow surgery since beginning college.

Community

Christopherson is extremely active in the community. He has volunteered at numerous community activities, including Toys for Tots, nursing home visits and handing out food at football games and homeless shelters. Christopherson is an instructor at summer team camps in the offseason. This past year four different parents wrote letters to the staff commenting on his unbelievable individual instruction.

Competition

Christopherson returns as one of the nation’s best shooters. An honorable mention All-Big 12 pick in 2011, Christopherson ranked 11th nationally in three-point percentage at 44.1 percent. Christopherson, who averaged 13.7 points in 2010-11, is Iowa State’s career leader in three-point percentage (43.7) and ranks second in the Big 12 in that category. His 131 career three-pointers rank fifth all-time in school history and his 34 straight games with a made three-pointer is the best streak in Iowa State history.
