Classroom

Scout Monteith graduated in the spring of 2017 with a pre-med degree in biology and a chemistry minor. He finished his undergraduate work with a 3.82 GPA. He was a dean’s list student, and he made the All-Academic Team each of his four years as an undergrad. Monteith is currently pursuing his masters degree in business while finishing his soccer career at Lipscomb. He plans to continue his education in medical school after his eligibility has expired.

Character

Monteith has owned his own business, Monteith Landscaping in Charlotte, N.C,, since 2008. He sends out invoices, handles customer service and manages several employees. He was elected as a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team in 2014 and served in that role until 2016. As a true junior, Monteith was forced to redshirt due to an injury. After sitting out a full season, in which he was elected a captain, Monteith rebounded to be named to his first all-conference team as a redshirt junior.

Community

Monteith volunteers as a coach at Saint Bartholomew Soccer Academy, is a role model for students at Carter Lawrence Elementary School, and furthers his education volunteering at Green Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center. He has also participated with the men’s soccer team on a mission trip to Trinidad in 2014 where he and his teammates built a house for a family in need and spread joy and love to young orphans.

Competition

Monteith is currently in his third season as a captain of the men’s soccer team. He was voted to the ASUN All-Freshman Team in 2013 and the ASUN All-Conference Second Team as a redshirt junior last season after anchoring a back line that allowed just 22 goals and posted six shutouts. Monteith played the third most minutes on the team as a junior and started 17 of the 18 games the Bisons played. He also contributed offensively, scoring a goal last season, his second of his Lipscomb career.
