Sean Meagher

Classroom

Meagher is majoring in Accounting and Finance and has a GPA 3.79. He was the NEC Scholar Athlete of the Year (2013) and has been on the Dean’s List every semester. He plans on pursuing his MBA next year with intent of sitting for CPA in near future.

Character

Meagher interacted with children from Mooncrest Neighborhood Program.  He helped these children with school work, games, and began to teach them the sport of lacrosse. He raised money for Pittsburgh’s Veterans Leadership Program and he coached at Moon High School his sophomore year.

Community

Meagher is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) since freshman year. He is the NEC Representative in SAAC Junior and Senior year. He organized “Gatorade Pong”, a fundraiser in which proceeds went to benefit a former RMU men’s hockey player Chris Kushneriuk, who beat testicular cancer. He has also organized events such as canned food drives, penny wars (fundraising),  ultimate sports challenge (Athletic Department wide competition event), Fundraising for Veterans Leadership Program, Bon fire on campus, and multiple large projects still to come later this semester

Competition

Meagher was the NEC Defensive Player of the Year (2013); the NEC Scholar Athlete of the Year (2013); ;All-NEC First Team (2013), and a member of the NEC Tournament Team (2013). He se the single season RMU record for caused turnovers (38).
