Murray, a business major, carries a 3.58 cumulative GPA. He has been named to the MAAC All-Academic Team twice.
Character
In Murray’s first two years as the starting goalkeeper, Monmouth’s record was 3-23-2. He stuck with the program, became a team captain, and led an unprecedented turnaround.
In the spring of 2021, Monmouth won the MAAC Championship after an impressive four straight road wins. Monmouth then earned a win in regulation at the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.
He still remains a team captain as Monmouth looks to repeat this fall.
Community
Throughout his four years at Monmouth, Murray has participated in various community service days. He has volunteered with food drives, middle school visits, breast cancer awareness games, Toys for Tots, Schroth School for disabilities, and Go4TheGoal to fund for childhood cancer.
Competition
Murray’s accolades include 2020-21 MAAC Co-Goalkeeper of the Year, 2020-21 All-MAAC Team, and 2018 MAAC All-Rookie Team.
As a freshman, he ranked third in the NCAA with 87 saves. As a redshirt junior, he led Monmouth to a MAAC Championship, shutting out #1 seed Quinnipiac in the championship game. He then guided the Hawks to a win over Bowling Green in the NCAA Tournament, making three saves in the final 39 seconds.
