Classroom
Sis has graduated from the University of Washington and was a Dean’s List honoree. She was a Pac-12 All-Academic honoree every year she was eligible. Sis will be pursuing her master’s degree in education starting next year.
Character
She serves as a team leader in every aspect and embodies team ideas. Sis goes out of her way to make sure other players don’t feel ignored. She earned the team’s 2018 Toughness Award. Sis is an energy-bringer for the team and sets the tone for the team’s exuberance on and off the field.
Community
Sis has worked with the Special Olympics and signs autographs after every game.
Competition
Sis Bates has been a First Team All-American and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year twice. She has been honored as NFCA All-Region three times, and was a USA Softball Player of the Year Finalist twice. She has led UW to WCWS every year.
