Steve Ammann

Classroom

Ammann has a 3.86 cumulative GPA in business administration with an emphasis in finance and marketing. He has been a Presidential Scholar and a member of the Dean’s List. Was a member of the 2007 America East Conference All-Academic lacrosse team as well as the University of Albany Athletic Director’s Academic Honor Roll, University Presidential Honor Society and the Golden Key National Honor Society. Spent the summer of 2007 as an intern with the financial control group Morgan Stanley and in worked as a financial represetative for Northwestern Financial Network from June 2006 to May 2007.

Character

Of the team captain Albany head coach Scott Marr says, “Steve has been a great leader with the younger guys off the field. He is the more vocal of the twin brothers. He and his brother’s willingness to do the little things are important. They have helped their teammates with their studies and are constantly looking for ways to help.”

Community

He has done community service with America Serving Americans, Habitat for Humanities, Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays, Walk for Juvenile Diabetes, Relay for Life and Blood Drive. He is also a Student-Athlete Mentor in calculus, economics and finance.

Competition

Ammann was a 2007 All-America East second-team midfielder. He plays on same line with brother, Mike and was seventh on team in scoring with 22 points from his midfield position in 2007. He netted a pair of goals against Delaware and Siena and registered at least one point in 17 of 18 games. He had the game-winning goal vs. UMBC during the regular season. He scored 13 points on five goals and eight assists as a sophomore including a career-high three points against both Yale and Stony Brook in April. He has scored against eight opponents. Was a member of the 2005 America East Conference All-Rookie Team and combined for three goals and six assists in 16 games played as a freshman.
