Character

Head Coach Karen Weatherington:
There are so many words to define Rowan as a woman of high character. Things such as integrity, honesty, incredible work ethic, loyalty, and accountability are the first to come to mind. Once she arrived at Charlotte, Rowan has made a profound impact on our volleyball program and campus. We immediately saw her strong leadership skills blossom as a freshman. Rowan was named captain her first year and supported her teammates in their many transitions to college.

She is an incredible student and an even better person. Rowan stands up for what’s right and for those around her. She is the type of player who makes everyone around her better. She plays at the top of her game at all times and cheers, directs, and supports everyone around her. When things become misaligned in the locker room, Rowan speaks truth to the situation, her teammates, and her coaches.  Most importantly, she exudes integrity when faced with tough decisions. Rowan has given her all to Charlotte Athletics.

Community

Rowan has participated in multiple community initiatives, totaling over 35 hours of service.

She has volunteered with the Tim Tebow Foundation’s ‘A Night to Remember,’ National Girls and Women Sports Day, Gold Rush 5K, 18th Annual William’s Walk, Second Harvest Food Bank, YMCA Miracle League All-Star Game, and the SAAC Cares Holiday Drive. Rowan has also participated in basketball book drives, as a dance marathon volunteer, epilepsy stroll volunteer, and with both the Dig Pink Fundraiser at Chick-Fil-A and Adopt a Spot.

Competition

Rowan, a three-time all-conference performer, has become one of the best players in Charlotte history.

She just became the eighth player in program history to record 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.

Rowan ranks fourth all time in attacks (4,303), eighth in points/set (3.71), and ninth all-time in kills (1,326). She holds school records for most attacks in four-set and five-set matches and needs only 137 digs to earn a spot in the top 10.
