Character

Collett is highly regarded as both a teammate and student-athlete. In the spring of 2020, he was inducted into Kentucky’s Frank G. Ham Society of Character and was named UK Athletics’ Mr. Wildcat.

He also earned the 2020 SEC Brad Davis Community Service Award.

Community

Collett, a two-time SEC Community Service Team member, has been instrumental in Kentucky’s community outreach.

He is heavily involved with the NEGU/Jessie Rees Foundation, whose mission is connecting families of young cancer patients, bringing awareness to their stories, offering them a network of resources, and sending their families encouragement. NEGU, which stands for Never Ever Give Up, has worked with Collett to bring children and their families to home games so that they can experience pregame activities on the field and in the dugout, as well as be announced during the game. With NEGU, he has spearheaded an effort in which his team members deliver joy jars to young cancer patients. They are stuffed with toys, games, and other things to brighten the patients’ days while fighting their diseases.

Competition

Entering the 2021 season, Collett was named a Perfect Game Preseason First-Team All-American and a preseason First-Team All-SEC selection by both the league’s coaches and D1 Baseball.

He is the SEC’s active career leader in home runs and ranks seventh among all Division I players with 35. He has twice been named National Player of the Week and SEC Player of the Week during his career.
