Classroom
Groves graduated from Eastern Washington this summer, earning his degree in interdisciplinary studies. He is now pursuing a Master’s of Organizational Leadership at Oklahoma.
He was named to the Winter Big Sky Conference All-Academic Team three times.
Character
Groves has been a vocal leader at both practices and games during his short time in Norman.
Community
Groves was extremely active in the community at Eastern Washington and continues to be at Oklahoma.
He volunteered at the Second Harvest Foot Bank, Union Gospel Mission Spokane, Shadle Park High School, and Adopt a Highway Litter Control Program. Groves also participated with the Cheney High School, Eastern Washington Special Olympics, and coached youth basketball camps.
At Oklahoma, Groves is a teammate for Jude Starkey, the program’s Team Impact signee.
Competition
Groves had a career season last year at Eastern Washington. He was named the 2020-21 Big Sky Conference MVP while also being named to the All-Big Sky and NABC All-District 6 first teams.
He was selected as the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week twice and has already been named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week once so far this season.
